Sweet Sixteen

A few weeks ago we hosted the funnest party! A sweet sixteen at the Murray theater, a hip concert venue located on State street. We had a Graffiti artist creating some murals for our guest of honor, break dancers, a local celebrity dj, and the coolest candy station ever! Here are a few awesome photos taken by Logan from Zuma photo to give you a little sneak peek...we'll post the full party on our website! As always...enjoy...and remember to surround yourself with great food and fun! xoxo Rachel Heimer

“Let them eat cake”

As I assist my beautiful Bride's in planning every aspect of their upcoming receptions, we ultimately come to the question...To save the top tier of cake or not? Some of my Brides insist on saving the top to freeze and eat a year later while others ask "Why would I ever want to eat year old cake?" Which has made me wonder where this crazy tradition comes from. Well, through just a bit of research I found that the top tier was originally saved for the christening of the couple's first child and not to remember the wedding day! Since many couples had children just shortly after their Wedding day, it was meant to be a cost savings to serve the same cake rather than have an entirely new cake made. However, over time, the span between the marriage and child bearing has stretched and thus came the "1 year anniversary remembrance" associated with the cake. Locally, Carrie's Cakes will produce any Bride's dream cake from individual centerpieces to topsy turvy to the most elaborate and elegant display of piping and edible gold and silver. Take a look at these fantastic creations! xoxo Rachel Nasse-Heimer Executive Director

Meet Rachel

rachelOur wonderful clients are the heart and soul of our business.  They inspire us to keep on creating new and interesting ideas while sticking to our motto that most importantly, the food must taste good!  During the next few months I'll meet with hundreds of brides, listening while they describe their dreams and ideas for their receptions.  It's funny because with as many weddings as I have produced, you would think that we run out of ideas.  But, it is so true, that each and every Bride is unique and each and every reception reflects the unique style and ideas of her alone.  Every year, I look forward to this time of year where we get to play fairy princesses in making girl's dreams come true!   While some blogs may be about a particular wedding I am planning, others will be dedicated to our phenomenal vendors we partner with to create stellar events time and time again.  I am so grateful for the network of talented people I have grown to know and love over the years and I am looking forward to featuring each and every one of them!  Warm Regards, Rachel Heimer
