BROWN BUTTER ACORN SQUASH MOUSSE ON DRIED APPLE AND SAGE CRISP WHAT: This summer we told you about Culinary Crafts newest venture: a series of one-of-a-kind, one-night-only, pop-up restaurants. Following the success of their sold-out August and September pop-ups, founder Mary Crafts-Homer, Chef David James Robinson, and their team of food + drink aficionados are back this month hosting a bountiful 10-course autumn feast. The evening is a date-night must for foodie couples or couples still in search of their wedding caterer (taste it to believe it!). The exclusive dining experience will be held at The Tasting Room, Culinary Crafts loft-like event space featuring exposed brick walls and large glass windows, in downtown Salt Lake City. If you’re looking for an urban wedding venue in the heart of SLC, with top-notch catering facilities to boot, look no further. The October pop-up restaurant is co-hosted by The Green Urban Lunch Box. A portion of all ticket sales will go to support the local nonprofit group’s programs, including urban agriculture and providing hunger relief. Created by Crafts-Homer herself, this month’s menu showcases the best of Utah’s fall harvest and will include fruit and veggies from The Green Urban Lunch Box gardens. Menu highlights include Mesquite-Grilled Rocky Mountain Red Trout with The Green Urban Lunch Box Apple Chutney, Sous Vide Citrus-Marinated Snake River Tenderloin of Beef, Utah Amano Chocolate Espresso Pot de Crème with Utah Pistachio Biscotti,  and so much more. Crafts-Homer will play hostess for the evening, and will guide guests through the culinary, multi-course journey. Chef Robinson will also be present to share his knowledge, as well as Shawn Peterson, executive director for The Green Urban Lunch Box. Eating well and doing good for our community? New Venue: Land Cruiser Heritage Museum


Culinary Crafts had the honor of catering Toyota's “Ever Better Expedition” Tour recently and got to check out a new venue at the same time too!  The Land Crusier Heritage Museum, located in downtown Salt Lake City, is a unique, urban venue setting and although it may be subtle on the outside - make no mistake your guests will be blown away when they walk through the door.  Check it out!


This wide open warehouse space boasts classic exposed brick and showcases the ultimate back-drop, a beautiful, mint condition collection of Land Cruisers.  Spanning across the history of the Land Cruiser from the late 1950's to the present, it is a sight to behold and will make for an absolutely unforgettable event experience.


This place is great for any type of event and has a seating capacity of up to 140 for sit down dinners and over 200 for reception style events.  And how fun is it that your guests can check out some AMAZING land cruisers during the event too!



For this event, this venue was a perfectly versatile setting to create a fun and casual cocktail reception as guests toured the museum - plus we served a variety of local Utah beers, which the guests loved!



After the cocktail reception, we invited guests to enjoy an elegant formal plated dinner menu.  How great does this place look?



Culinary Crafts made sure to keep guests full on delicious eats!  So, we served an array of local foods from grilled Rocky Mountain red trout to toffee cakes with Utah grown pistachios.  Yum!

Art of Catering Conference: Boots, Buckles, & BBQ!


Today, I am excited to bring you one of the AWESOME events that Culinary Crafts hosted for Catersource's Art of Catering Conference that was held in Salt Lake City earlier this month!  Boots, Buckles, & BBQ was a favorite because we got to host it at This Is The Place and got to showcase our LOVE of BBQ!  It was so much fun, check it out! AoCF_RanchEvent Even though it was a rainy day, the weather was welcome in this summer heat!  Love this venue too! AoCF_RanchEvent2 To keep with the theme, we used red bandanna inspired linens and our recycled wine glass votive covers.  Plus, our servers "cowboy-ed" up too and passed the guests delicious local brews! AoCF_RanchEvent3 One of our fine food offerings is our Smoke Fresh Utah Corn on the Cob with a variety of flavored butters.  Yum! AoCF_RanchEvent4 Love the festive vibe of this party! Culinary Crafts aims to create an unforgettable experience for everyone who attends our events! AoCF_RanchEvent5 Another one of our dishes?  Chef Torched Ancho Rubbed Grass Fed Utah Beef Tri Tip with Farro, Arugula, and Dried Cherry Salad! AoCF_RanchEvent6 And, of course we wanted to take this event over the top, so we roasted a whole pig on site! AoCF_RanchEvent7 We also served up Charcoal Grilled Rocky Mountain Trout with Utah Green Apple Relish and Roasted Utah Summer Squash and Zucchini and another with Pulled Snake River Pork Shoulder with Ryan Crafts's Blood Orange BBQ Sauce, House-Made Cornbread Muffins, and Local Greens, Utah Apricots, Plums, Pistachios, and Goat Feta with a Ginger Chili Pepper Dressing.  AH-MAZING! AoCF_RanchEvent8 Plus, we planned one-of-a-kind activities like bull riding and lasso lessons with a bona fide cowboy!AoCF_RanchEvent9 AoCF_RanchEvent10 The Ugly Valley Boys set the mood for the event with up tempo tunes!  Such a fun night! AoCF_RanchEvent11 And, of course, we served dessert!  We made a selection of Homemade Southern Style Shortcakes with Fresh Local Peaches, Rhubarb and Blackberries with Vanilla Rum Cream AND we had a Old Fashioned Float Station with Jackson Hole Sodas.  So good! We love planning ALL kinds of events but this one was so very special because we got to treat our fellow caterer peers across the nation! Happy planning, everyone! Culinary Crafts Farmers Market & Food Fair!!!


Culinary Crafts is proud to announce that we are starting a Farmers Market & Food Fair and the opening day is August 8th!  Here are the deets: The indoor market will feature Culinary Crafts' house-made gelato, fresh-baked artisan breads, signature caramel corn, house-made vanilla extract, cookies, BBQ sauces, dry rubs and incredible pulled-pork sandwiches. Snuck Farms will be offering their hydroponic greens, including romaine, butter lettuce, arugula, red/green oak leaf lettuce, red and green sweet crisp, chard, cress, spinach and basil. Little Red Hen will have rich, delicious homemade caramels. Rosehill Dairy will offer their local milk, unpasteurized milk, cream, half n half, cheese and other dairy products – with no hormones or antibiotics. Local free-range eggs will also be available. Creamery Creek Farm’s handmade goats’ milk soaps will be on hand. Plus beautiful artisan jams from The Best Dam Jam. Bring the whole family and come on in!
