Wedding Trend: A Casual Beer Garden Party

Today, I am so excited to share this AWESOME laid back wedding that Culinary Crafts did recently!  Not only was it beautiful, but we created a beer garden complete with beer tastings for guests one of our favorite local breweries.  So COOL!  It was so much fun and the out of town guests LOVED it!  Plus, it showcased the amazing local brews that we have here in Utah.  Check it out! BeerGarden Memorial House is such a great venue and we loved this welcome chalkboard with paper fans for favors.  Plus, it set the tone for the laid back beer garden vibe. BeerGarden2 This reclaimed wood signage was awesome and fit the space perfectly! BeerGarden3 Our beer garden showcased three local Squatters brews, an Organic Amber, a Pale Ale, and a Golden Ale.  All great choices! BeerGarden4 We created an outdoor lounge for guests to relax and mingle.  A perfect, casual wedding setup! BeerGarden6BeerGarden5 Guests could try one (or all three) of the beers and then get their favorite to drink while perusing the "pub style" bites we created to go along with the beers! BeerGarden7 Culinary Crafts served House Made Soft Pretzels with a variety of mustards and cream cheese, Miniature Fried Pickles with Ranch Dressing, and Miniature Corn Dogs with Classic Ketchup and Mustard.  SO YUMMY! BeerGarden8 BeerGarden9 We also served some of our Culinary Crafts favorites for butler passed hors d'oeuvres as well.  Our Coconut Crusted Shrimp and Cheese Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes were great light fare for this summer party! BeerGarden10 We couldn't stop there, though.  We also had a selection of House Made Breads, Local Artisan Cheeses, Fruit, Hummus, Roasted Vegetables, and Olives.  The guests really loved all of the variety! BeerGarden11 Lastly, in keeping with the beer garden theme, one of the entrees we served were Philly Cheesesteaks on House Made Buns and Pomme Frites with Garlic Aioli and another local favorite, Fry Sauce! This wedding was such a great example of how couples can make they day a little different and show their guests a one of a kind experience!  We loved creating this beer garden and all of the fun "pub style" foods to go along with it!  Happy planning, everyone! Dreamy Spring Inspiration Shoot: The Food!

Today on the blog, I wanted to follow that AMAZING Style Me Pretty post with more on the FOOD (of course)!  We had a blast figuring out our menu and you know that Culinary Crafts always wants to create new trends - so what's better than bringing a brunch menu (which is totally a new trend), but then making it all tiny bites?!  Awesome, is what it is!  Check it out! DreamySpringFood How great is this vintage dresser from Susan’s Party Rentals?  Such a perfect place to stage this gourmet brunch menu! DreamySpringFood2 Little French Toastettes?  Don't mind it I do!  Couple that with a kiss of house made syrup and our Sea Salt Butter, and you've got heaven on a plate.  Yum! DreamySpringFood4 Of course the fresh berries just made the French Toastettes even sweeter! DreamySpringFood6 What's a brunch without Eggs Benedict?  We brought three kinds to boot!  The first one was a traditional bene with a little bit of spinach and topped with a piece of fried spinach.  Lovely! DreamySpringFood7 Next, we have a Lobster Eggs Benedict.  It was gorgeous and decadent - a perfect match! DreamySpringFood5 Lastly, we served a Braised Short Rib Eggs Benedict which was AH-MAZING.  Such a great pairing and totally unique! DreamySpringFood3 Of course, we needed a beverage too!  So we poured up some Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice Shooters garnished with Honeydew and Mint.  Love, love, love! DreamySpringFood8 How pretty was the menu by West End Girl, the tablescape which was all furnished by Susan’s Party Rentals, and the stunning florals by Calie Rose??? DreamySpringFood9 This shoot was SOOOO much fun and we are so glad that Kristina Curtis asked us to be a part of it!  Happy brunching, everyone! A White Brick, Organic Inspiration Shoot!

Today, we here at Culinary Crafts decided to share the other shoot that we did in conjunction with yesterday's Modern, Geometric shoot!  Equally lovely, but with a softer, more organic flair, this shoot was a blast!  With many of the same vendors, it's so fun to see how these artists are so versatile and make EVERY SINGLE DETAIL just stunning.  Check it out! So PRETTY!  It's all about the details people! scene18 What a welcome!  Cobalt & Dash also created this AWESOME chalkboard signage and we came up with a beautiful signature beverage table, with the design expertise and florals both by Scenemakers, that really created a jaw dropping entrance to this "event". scene1 The signature beverage was a Rosemary Sparkling Pear Soda in a gold glitter rimmed glass garnished with a Sprig of Rosemary and Dried Pear Slice.  So fresh and delicious!  Perfect for an early morning or afternoon luncheon! scene3 Isn't this tablescape dreamy?  Scenemakers is AMAZING!!!  And the photographer, Jessica Peterson, offered her studio, The Charcoal Loft, as the venue and it was just the perfect blank canvas to work this magic! scene6 A pretty plate, to say the least!  We love the mix of the vintage accented plates and the more modern charger from Diamond Rental.  Plus our up-cycled wine glass tumblers added a pop of color that was perfect in this organic color palette. scene11new We knew that we had to create a divine first course that matched the beauty of this shoot, and we did just that!  A Roasted White Cauliflower Crisp with Brussel Sprout Leaves, Pea Shoots and Lemon-Garlic Vinaigrette paired with a Parchment Wrapped Tomato Calamata Foccacia with an Olive Oil/ Butter Duo with Sea Salt.  YUM. This foccacia is my FAVORITE!  It's such a great presentation and people LOVE this special touch at the table! scene10 I couldn't resist sharing another pic of this STUNNING table!  And those florals that Scenemakers designed?  Drop dead GORGEOUS. scene8 Our dessert was a personal favorite of mine.  Not only because it was delcious, but it was the CUTEST EVER!!!  Mini Sugar Cinnamon Donuts topped with a Brown Sugar Crumble served in Mini Paper Bags - yeah, I told you it was cute! scene2 This soft, romantic invitation suite by Cobalt & Dash's Eleanor Kramer (who also happened to be our model for the shoot) set the mood just perfectly.  The watercolor accents are seriously amazing! What a FANTASTIC shoot and thank you to all of the vendors who were so wonderful to work with!  The finished result was truly lovely and we are so grateful to have been asked to be a part of both of these shoots!  Happy dreaming, everyone! Modern, Geometric Shoot at The Tasting Room

Today, we have a fun and flirty inspiration shoot for you all!  This oldie but a goodie is a Culinary Crafts favorite and the team at Scenemakers did an AMAZING job of designing this shoot that was fun, but still sophisticated too!  Couple that with photography by Jessica Peterson Photography and the venue, which was Culinary Crafts's Tasting Room in downtown Salt Lake City, and you have a recipe for GORGEOUS! Check it out! Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-24 Love the geometric hearts!  And the glitter!!!  So fun! Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-2 How pretty is this tablescape?  I love the modern feel and how it blends with the brick walls of the Tasting Room!  Just the best setting for this afternoon luncheon. Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-17 These menus and escort cards were PERFECT!  Saucy & Kitsch is simply the best!  Plus, aren't the card holder's AWESOME?! Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-35  More glitter!  I just can't resist a sequined table runner.  JUST. CAN'T. Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-9 Love, love, love the florals that Scenemakers did!  And our first course, was awesome too - if you ask me, anyway! :) We served a Spring Sweet Pea and Pesto Risotto topped with Tiny Asparagus Spears, a Fried Quail Egg, and Shaved Parmesan with Black Pepper Brioche.  Uh, yum! Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-32 Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-23  Another fabulous snippet of these STUNNING florals.  Just beautiful!   Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-21 We also served a signature beverage (of course!)  This Thyme Raspberry Cream Soda garnished with Raspberries and a Sprig of Thyme was the perfect playful drink for this shoot!  And the golden striped paper straws with the bride & groom's names on the decorative flag was a stroke of genius!  It's all about the details! Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-11 And of course we had a GORGEOUS dessert to round out this pretty day!  Our Mini Pear-Vanilla Bundt Cakes topped with Meyer Lemon Whipped Curd with a slice of Preserved Pear and Candied Lemon Zest was also coupled with petite cups of coffee, perfect for this early afternoon luncheon! Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-33 Scenemakers-Geometric-Heart-Styled-Shoot-Jessica-Peterson-Photography-14 We here at Culinary Crafts LOVED this shoot - such a lovely stylized shoot with a team of fabulous professionals!  We also really love the trend of brunches and afternoon lunches for all of the light options and menu creativity that we get to explore.  Such a great day!  Happy inspiration, everyone! A Modern, Chic Wedding at NHMU!

Today I have a STUNNING event to share with you all!  Not only was this AMAZING wedding just a beautiful event that we had the honor of seeing published in Utah Bride and Groom Magazine, but it was the first (and to date, the only) same-sex wedding to be published in a Utah bridal magazine!  So amazing - and we think you'll see why we love this event so much too - check it out! NashJuddWedding Isn't this a great bridal party photo?  David Newkirk perfectly captured the high-style feel of this day! NashJuddWedding2 The grooms-to-be selected the incredibly chic venue of the Natural History Museum of Utah to host their wedding celebration - and it was a great fit!  The natural beauty of the architectural materials and the modern design makes this space such a jaw-dropping venue.  We also love that they chose the date of their 10-year anniversary to seal their commitment to each other forever.  Love it! NashJuddWedding3 We also loved the modern monogram that the grooms used through the event to "brand" the day.  Such a fabulous idea and great way to tie together your details! NashJuddWedding4 The design, by our friends at FUSE Weddings & Events, hit this one out of the park.  Mixed metallics and the primary pop of copper was GORGEOUS - love that detail especially since NHMU is accented with copper from the Rio Tinto mine.  So, of course, the venue blended in with this palette just beautifully. NashJuddWedding5 How pretty is this tablescape?  Love those geometric centerpieces by Orchid Dynasty! NashJuddWedding6 Another high style touch?  The avant-garde "Champagne Bride" who "passed" champagne to the guests.  This TOTALLY set the mood for a chic, stylish event! NashJuddWedding9 How pretty is this sweetheart table?  Love the ghost chairs and copper wrapped florals! NashJuddWedding7 We worked closely with the grooms and FUSE to create a menu that was over-the-top, but also showcased the couple's individual personalities.  For example?  The His & His hors d'oeuvres included Tomato Soup with Mini Grilled Cheese Bites (the couple's favorite meal) and a take on nachos 2 ways - including a play on 7-11's nachos!  So fun! NashJuddWedding10 The guests took a seat for dinner and enjoyed breathtaking views of Salt Lake City while they were served.  A stunning view, if you ask me! NashJuddWedding8 We also served Fresh Strawberries with Cream and the first course in their plated dinner was a delicious Goat Cheese and Beet Terrine.  SO YUMMY! NashJuddWedding11 The Main Course was a "Great Duo" entree of Lobster & Beef.  Decadent AND pretty! NashJuddWedding12 Lastly, the guests were given a palette cleanser of our house-made Raspberry Sorbet to finish out the meal before they had wedding cake for dessert. NashJuddWedding13 We simply LOVED this wedding!  It was full of so much joy and we had SO much fun planning the menu!  Thank you to Utah Bride & Groom for publishing it - because Culinary Crafts believes LOVE is LOVE and it's all equal!  Happy dreaming, everyone! Western Union Inspiration Shoot: The Food

I know many of you remember this BEAUTIFUL inspiration shoot that Culinary Crafts did recently at the LDW Ranch.  Well, not only was the setting gorgeous, but the food, well,  it was AMAZING!  Now, I might be a bit biased, but it seriously was SO much fun to create this menu and I couldn't help but share it with you all!  Check it out! LDW_Food Firstly, I have to say that creating a menu that will share such a pretty table is the bee's knees.  MOOD Events & Scenemakers hit the design out of the park!  Love, love, love. LDW_Food2 On to the food!  To start the cocktail hour out right, we created this artisan cheese display featuring a whole honeycomb.  I love the visual impact the honeycomb brought to this station! LDW_Food8 We also created an assortment of savory macaroons and savory shortbreads to pair with our Tea-tini bar, which we'll feature soon! LDW_Food4   Isn't this place setting pretty?  And the leather seating tags, designed by our very own Mary Crafts-Homer, were a fun keepsake! LDW_Food3 Love the Aged Parmesan Cheese & Sun Dried Tomato Skewer with a Rosemary Sprig starter - and if that wasn't enough - our first course was this Beef Carpaccio with Caper Berries.  Such a stunning way to kick off this meal! LDW_Food5   What could follow that first course, you ask?  Well, this delicious Center-cut Pork Chop with Compressed Melon and Balsamic accompanied by House-made Cornbread that was baked in individual porcelain bowls.  Yum!   LDW_Food6 Lastly, the dessert!  We served a decadent Chocolate Ganache and Salted Caramel Tart that was simply to die for!  We also had the pleasure of having one of the AMAZING cakes made by One Sweet Slice (oh, how we miss them) that was simply perfect as well! This menu was beyond perfection, just like this entire shoot!  We so enjoyed being able to join forces with some of our FAVORITE vendors and love every detail of the day!  Happy dreaming, everyone! Western Union Inspiration Shoot: The Venue

Some of you may remember this FABULOUS vintage ranch shoot that Culinary Crafts did last fall (see it here), but now that it's been out in the magazines, we wanted to focus more on each of the individual vendors who helped make this day sheer perfection.  Up first, we have the venue, LDW Ranch, which is located in Springville, Utah and really set the tone for this GORGEOUS shoot.  Here's what Mary had to say about LDW Ranch: "People often ask me, 'Where do you find these amazing venues?' I am always on the lookout for those one-of-a-kind exclusive venues that may perfectly fit the vision of a bride. LDW Ranch is a hidden gem that is destined to be one of Utah’s more unique and beautiful venues." Check out some of the breathtaking views of this beautiful property! LDW_Ranch Love the lush landscape at this property!  It's like being in your own little Eden. LDW_Ranch2 How gorgeous is this lakeside ceremony?  Just stunning! LDW_Ranch3 I love the mix of the romantic fabrics, rustic wooden accents, and natural beauty that we used.  This locale just lends itself to one-of-a-kind events. LDW_Ranch4 Plus, you couldn't ask for a better place for your wedding portraits.  It's SO PRETTY! LDW_Ranch5 LDW_Ranch6 You might also run into some new friends at the ranch too! :) LDW_Ranch7 We just LOVE LDW Ranch and are so excited for all of the fabulous events we'll be doing there in the future and it made for the perfect place for this magical inspiration shoot.  So, if you are looking for a unique ranch venue, DEFINITELY check out LDW Ranch!  You won't be disappointed!  Happy planning, everyone! A Bright & Bold Brunch Inspiration Shoot: THE FOOD!!!

As promised, today I am sharing our food that Culinary Crafts created for this GORGEOUS brunch inspiration shoot!  We really wanted to create something different (and delicious!) and decided that a small plates approach was the PERFECT fit!  This is totally a big trend right now and we love how small plates allow you to serve your guest a variety of dishes, without them feeling overstuffed and unable to try everything!  Plus, it just looks so PRETTY!  Check it out! Food_Bright&BoldBrunch2 Aren't these menus and the tablescape awesome?!  Thanks to the amazing styling by Attention 2 Detail Events, fabulous floral design by Flowers by Adrien, and the stunning paper suite by Pro Digital Photos! Not to mention the gorgeous photos by Kristina Curtis Photography! Food_Bright&BoldBrunch Our very own Mary Crafts-Homer taking care of the final touches before the shoot begins! Food_Bright&BoldBrunch3 Sigh.  Now THIS is a breathtaking table! Food_Bright&BoldBrunch5 We created three small plates and as well as two beverages.  I mean, how excited would you be to get to be a guest at this table?  I know I would be thrilled! Food_Bright&BoldBrunch4 Our first plate was our small plate approach to a breakfast favorite: Steak N' Eggs!  This divine dish was a Cornbread Waffle, Locally Farmed Steak, Frizzled Leeks, drizzled with Chimichurri all topped with a Fried Quail Egg.  Yum! Food_Bright&BoldBrunch6 Next we have a simply CUTE pancake platter!  This miniature Whole Wheat Nutmeg Pancake Stack was topped with a single blueberry and accompanied by a cube of Himalayan Pink Salted Butter and House-Made Cinnamon Cream Syrup and garnished with a Fresh Lime Wedge.  Cute and delectable! Food_Bright&BoldBrunch7 I bet these two couldn't wait for the shoot to be over so they could dig in to the delish eats! :) Food_Bright&BoldBrunch8 Lastly, we have a sweet end to this fabulous meal!  Not only did we serve a sweet Raspberry Mocktail Shooter with Fresh Berries, but no meal is complete without dessert! These Mini Old-Fashioned Buttermilk Donuts with Milk & Pink Sugar Frosting were served with a cup of Amano Hot Chocolate, House Made Toasted Vanilla Marshmallow, and Garnished with Candied Orange Zest.  So good! We had such a great time planning for this inspiration shoot and couldn't be more thrilled with how it all came together!  We hope this inspires you to consider a small plates approach to your event - I guarantee it will please ANY guest!  Happy planning everyone!
