Ranch Chic Wedding on SMP! | Wednesday Wisdom

By

Today, we at Culinary Crafts would like to share with you a GORGEOUS destination wedding held at Utah's own beautiful High Star Ranch in Kamas, Utah!  We thought this Park City wedding was a knockout - and Style Me Pretty agreed whole-heartedly by making it a part of their Wedding Wednesday!  With the "Ranch Chic" trend showing up all over the wedding world (and we are fully behind that movement, I have to say) this wedding really showcases the natural beauty and simple ease that a Ranch Chic wedding can be.  Check it out here and thank you SO MUCH to Style Me Pretty for posting this on their blog today!  We couldn't be happier!  Happy planning everyone! Ranch Chic Park City Wedding | Wednesday Wisdom

By

Today, I am thrilled to show you a BEAUTIFUL Park City wedding that Culinary Crafts did recently and, let me tell you, the setting was spectacular!  This venue, nestled high above Park City, was filled with wall to wall mountain views, rustic touches, and just the right amount of gorgeous finishes - perfect to host a Ranch Chic wedding!  Ranch Chic is one of our new favorite up and coming trends - and I think Utah is the PERFECT place for it!  We have always embraced the rustic beauty of the mountains and now we are thrilled to be incorporating the natural elegance and sophistication that is available to us and that so many brides are looking for!  Take a look! Isn't this such a pretty backdrop for a wedding ceremony?  To die for! We LOVED the use of these vineyard tables with such understated yet stunning florals!  Perfect for getting your guests talking and visiting over delicious food! We at Culinary Crafts are big fans of signature cocktails, and these ones were a hit!  Perfectly suited to the bride and groom, the guests loved trying something new and love this special touch! We love local, we love slow food, we love the quality of the menu items it delivers, and this buffet was no exception!  The bride selected a rustic "farm to table" buffet featuring fresh Utah produce, cheeses, and trout. DELICIOUS! The bride also knew that she wanted a small wedding cake for the traditional cake cutting, but then thrilled her guests with a fabulous dessert, cupcake, and candy buffet with multiple cupcake choices and fabulous candy in the wedding colors.  A definite hit of the evening! Such a gorgeous wedding and such a wonderful couple!  If you are looking for a mountain venue, remember that you can go as rustic or as chic as you'd like and the setting will be a perfect fit for either - but, I have to say, we are LOVING the Ranch Chic weddings we are doing now!  So fun!  Happy planning everyone! Flower Girl & Ring Bearer Trends | Wednesday Wisdom

By

We at Culinary Crafts are always on the lookout for trends - both in the catering world and in the wedding world!  One of our newest favorites is the cute signage we are seeing flower girls and ring bearers pick up instead of the traditional flower petals or ring pillow!  These signs can be in any style and can be tailor fit to be a fun and memorable detail of your day.  Check out some of our favorites! Whether you go traditional, whimsical, or add a little humor to it, these signs are ALWAYS a favorite part of any ceremony and the kids will love being such an important part of your day!  Happy planning everyone! Elegant Red Butte Wedding | Wednesday Wisdom

By

Today, I'd like to share a chic and elegant Utah wedding that Culinary Crafts catered in one of our favorite spaces - The Orangerie at Red Butte Gardens.  This soft palette of pewter, mint, and blush pink was understated and gorgeous, not to mention perfectly blended with the natural beauty of the space.  And the menu!!!  The guests were greeted by butlers with and array of passed hors d'oeuvres like Roasted Corn Cakes with Goat Cheese and Honey, Parmigiano Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Proscuitto and Rock Shrimp with Wasabi Aioli and Thai Chili Sauce.  YUM!  Later, they dined on a Summer Buffet with Sesame Crusted Eggplant layered with Sauteed Vegetables served over a Barley Salad with Tomatoes, Scallions, Cucumber and Mint Lime Dressing and a Green Coconut Curry Sauce, Jack Daniels Puree of Yam with Buttered Pecans, Spinach and Romaine Salad with Goat Cheese, Dried Cranberries, Pears and Candied Walnuts with a Caramelized Onion Balsamic Vinaigrette, and Seared Asparagus with Lemon and Parmesan Curls.  Add the touches of sumptuous linens,  divine peonies, and delicate (yet scrumptious!) macarons which were in the wedding colors, natch, and you have a seriously beautiful event that guests will remember for a lifetime!  Take a look! Sometimes simple yet beautiful is the best way to make a big impact, and that was definitely the case at this wedding!  Happy planning everyone! -Holly Fowler, Wedding Planner Extraordinaire Check out our blog at www.culinarycrafts.com! And Now, Your Host, Jay Leno! | Wednesday Wisdom

By

Today, I'd like to revisit the WONDERFUL exhibition that just finished its run at the UMFA this past weekend.  The exhibit?  Speed: The Art of The Performance Automobile.  A wonderful event filled with fabulous cars and we at Culinary Crafts were evenluckier to have been able to be there for the Jay Leno meet and greet!  This was a true meeting of car enthusiasts and Jay Leno is no exception.  He LOVES the beauty of a finely cultivated auto and our local car lovers were thrilled to meet this man - who happens to have his own stunning collection of vintage cars.  Take a look! We were thrilled to be involved in this beautiful exhibit and excited to have met an icon like Jay Leno!  We can't wait to see what new exhibit comes to the UMFA - and we are betting its going to be just as AMAZING!  Happy Monday everyone! The Art of Catering Food Recap | Trendy Tuesday

By

Today, I'd like to share some of the fantastic photos from our 2 presentations at The Art of Catering Food Conference!  We had such a blast and were so thrilled to be asked to speak at this wonderful conference!  We love sharing our ideas and learning new things from our peers, and The Art of Catering Food did not disappoint!  Our first presentation, No Pastry Chef? No Problem! was led by our fantastic pastry chef, Jocelyn Ball, and Miss Mary Crafts-Homer, natch!  Focusing on ways to amp up your pastry and dessert offerings - (whether you are making them from scratch or fudging them a little) - with tips on shipping, timing and logistics, garnishes, and storing them until the event were all covered!  It was a crowd pleaser, for sure! The second presentation, Action Stations: The Showpiece of Your Event, was led by Mary Crafts, Ryan Crafts, Kaleb Crafts, and Marco Niccoli.  This presentation shared creative and inspiring ways to engage guests with presentation and action in their food preparation!  With more and more guests yearning to be wow-ed at events, action stations are a perfect way to make an event an over-the-top and memorable event!  Another hit for the crowd! We had such an AMAZING time and learned so much!  We can't wait for the next one! Check out our website at www.culinarycrafts.com! All images from Catersource and the ICA's facebook galleries

As you may know, we here at Culinary Crafts are in the swing of wedding season!  But, we are also in the mode of planning wedding coming in the next year and one of the BIG things we keep hearing is people going with an Indie wedding theme.  Well, what is 'Indie', you might ask?  Well, to me, it is highly personalized, handmade, and artist inspired with whimsical and vintage touches.  Still having trouble envisioning it?  Well, lucky for you, I put together an inspiration board that really shows of the fun and beautiful details Indie weddings feature.  Check it out!

Such a colorful, quirky, and fun trend!  We are so excited to see the upcoming Indie weddings and share them with you!  Happy planning everyone!

The Hope Gallery | Wednesday Wisdom

By

Today, I want to share another of Culinary Crafts's favorite downtown venues, The Hope GalleryThe Hope Gallery boasts one of the most breathtaking and beautiful collections of art around (between the 2 Salt Lake collections and one in Park City), not to mention the main Salt Lake City location is a STUNNING venue for someone wanting something a little different and appreciates great artists and their work!  Your guests will be pleased and definitely have a lot to admire!!!  Take a look! We love the gorgeous setting that The Hope Gallery creates and you can definitely see the possibilities of an AMAZING event, like this one we did there recently.  The Hope Gallery is a fantastic choice for any wedding reception or party and it's also just a hop, skip, and jump away from Culinary Crafts's new downtown offices!  So you can tour the space right after meeting with us to decide on any number of fabulous linens we have that would be gorgeous there!  Happy planning everyone! A Rock N’ Roll Bar Mitzvah | Wednesday Wisdom

By

Editor's Note: When we previously posted this event, the designer credit for Kim Albers Events was left off in error.  We sincerely apologize to Kim and have added it now.  We are so proud to show off another astounding event by Kim Albers and are always excited to be able to do such FABULOUS events with such a wonderful vendor partner! Today I want to share a recent Bar Mitzvah we did at one of our favorite venues, The Leonardo in downtown Salt Lake City - and what a show stopping event it was!  The theme, David's World Tour, was a fantastic over-the-top experience for the guests and was chock full of fabulous florals, extraordinary decor, and, of course, delectable food!  I think this event definitely shows that The Leonardo is a one of a kind venue for a beautiful wedding or an extravagant affair fit for a rock concert!  Take a look!   Congrats to David!  Culinary Crafts loved being a part of your Bar Mitzvah and being a key component to such a AMAZING event!  Happy planning everyone!
