As a premier caterer in Utah, Culinary Crafts was delighted to cater this gorgeous winter wedding at one of our favorite Utah venues, La Caille in Salt Lake City.

Utah Winter Wedding at La Caille

Nestled at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, La Caille is an iconic wedding venue known for its romantic European charm. With its château-inspired architecture, vineyard views, and sweeping mountain backdrop, it feels like a European destination—but at super-low Utah prices. In winter, the whole property transforms into a snow-dusted, storybook setting, offering dramatic photo opportunities and an atmosphere that feels intimate and romantic.

One of our favorite aspects of a winter wedding at La Caille is that guests can transition from the crisp mountain air into warm, candlelit interiors with stone fireplaces and grand windows. The contrast between the serene white landscape outside and the cozy indoor reception spaces creates a natural elegance and charm. It pairs perfectly with the kind of luxury catering and elevated guest experience that Culinary Crafts provides.

Winter-Inspired Hors d’Oeuvres

Following the ceremony next to a semi-frozen duck pond (featuring the majestic swan that is always one of our favorite sights at La Caille), guests were welcomed in from the cold with a comforting mug of hot chocolate. That warm, inviting touch set the tone for the evening.

Our kitchen and bakery team had curated a menu that balanced cozy winter flavors with elevated presentation. That menu began to roll out as our Front of House servers circulated through the room during cocktail hour, offering some of the happy couple’s favorite small bites:

  • Demi al pastor tacos with pineapple pico de gallo
  • Tomato basil soup sips
  • Petite brie grilled cheese bites with pepper jelly
  • Sweet dates wrapped in crispy bacon with goat cheese

Each bite was designed to complement the season while delivering the refined flavor profiles Culinary Crafts is known for in upscale catering in Utah.

A Utah Winter Wedding Dinner

The ballroom had been set for a sumptuous feast for all the senses. Dinner began with a vibrant seasonal salad featuring Utah’s Snuck Farm greens, roasted squash, fresh burrata, and candied hazelnuts, a delicious expression of winter abundance and local sourcing.

Special shout out to the creatives at La Fête who helped make this event look so beautiful. As our Director of Sales, Jocelyn, said, “I love La Fête. Allison is so creative, so fun to work with. Just a delight!”

A duo entrée course menu offered guests a refined pairing of heirloom roasted chicken with sweet tomato jam and braised short ribs with demi-glace, complemented by creamy au gratin potatoes. Nourishing and soul-warming while also elevated and elegant, it was a feast truly worthy of applause.

A Sweet Surprise Moment

In the midst of the festivities, our team orchestrated a special surprise: a personal chocolate raspberry birthday cake for the mother of the groom. These thoughtful touches are what set apart a full-service wedding catering experience in Utah.

Making Memories

When we began working in the family catering business four decades ago, our mother taught us that true hospitality is about much more than serving delicious food on beautiful plates. It’s about making people feel special and marking their moments with meaning. That’s why we go out of our way to add those quiet behind-the-scenes touches that guests may never see. Because years from now, our guests probably won’t remember exactly what they ate or drank at one of our catered events, but they will definitely remember how we made them feel.

At Culinary Crafts, we strive to make space for meaningful moments. Yes, the best moments of any wedding are almost always serendipitous, but few guests understand how those happy accidents are the results of careful and skillful planning.

  • The snow stops just in time for the ceremony, or the wind calms for candlelight, and behind the scenes, a fully formed backup plan quietly goes unused.
  • A new course arrives at the table, drawing delight from the guests who instantly recognize why this dish is exactly right for this couple and this moment.
  • A heartfelt toast hits deeper than anyone expected, and suddenly the whole party catches their breath, not realizing how many carefully curated factors are helping to make that moment perfect.
  • The photographer is in place to catch the bride and groom exchange a private glance, a smile that speaks volumes, as the service flows on invisibly around them.
  • The music drops, glasses are filled, and a spontaneous cheer erupts…because service anticipated the swell of the evening.
  • The couple beams and waves as they hurry to their get-away car, unaware that the left-overs they will crave later that night have already been boxed up and are waiting in the back seat.
  • Guests linger after the formal exit, gathered in warm clusters, reluctant to leave because the evening flowed so beautifully, and no one quite wants it to end.

That is the heart of full service catering: not just feeding guests, but crafting experiences that feel personal, elevated, and deeply memorable.
